We are looking for experienced and dedicated early childhood teachers to inspire and teach our Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten & Kindergarten children. Responsibilities include supervision of children, changing diapers, playing with and inspiring children, collaborating with colleagues, and communicating with parents.
The Goddard School of Jersey is opening this summer! We anticipate the start date for our teachers to be in mid-July. Beyond an ordinary preschool, The Goddard School of Jersey City teaches children ages two months through six years in three languages (English, Spanish, and Mandarin). Our inquiry-based, child-centered curriculum allows children to thrive in a supportive environment.
As a teacher, you will:
- Lead and collaborate with your team on the implementation of hands-on activities and projects based on your observations of children’s interests and skills.
- Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for assigned subject areas.
- Provide learning opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, problem-solving, critical, and creative thinking.
- Create and provide a supportive and caring classroom environment in which students learn cooperatively and interact positively with one another.
- Model respectful interactions with students of diverse backgrounds while responding to their individualized needs.
Requirements:
- Three-year minimum of teaching experience as a Teacher
- Degree in education, preferred.
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
Schedule:
- 8-hour shift:
Full-Time: 40 hours per week plus a one-hour lunch.
Education:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
- Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
