Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in supporting students with disabilities. The ideal candidate will be committed to creating inclusive, engaging, and individualized learning experiences that foster academic and personal growth. This role involves developing and implementing IEPs in collaboration with school leadership, planning tailored instruction, participating in IEP meetings, and establishing a positive classroom environment that supports both learning and behavioral development.
Schedule:Monday to Friday - 8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Salary Range:$70,000 - $90,000 per year (Salary will be decided based on experience.)
Duties:
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Develops, plans, and implements IEP for each student in conjunction with the Principal.
- Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
- Attends Pre-IEP and IEP meetings.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Participates in planning and implementing of specific behavior interventions.
Qualifications/Requirements
- New Jersey Certification – Teacher of Students with Disabilities Standard Certificate (Required) and K-12 certificate
- Open to candidates holding CE or CEAS TOSD certifications who have completed at least one year of mentorship toward obtaining their New Jersey Standard Certification.
- Willing to acquire a New Jersey Teacher of the Visually Impaired Endorsement once employed. Tuition reimbursement will be provided.
