Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-time Physical Education Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to engage in physical activities, promote healthy lifestyles, and foster a love for fitness and sports. This role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive physical education curriculum

Duties:

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Develops, plans, and implements goals for each student.
• Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a gym and classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Participates in planning and implementing specific behavior interventions.
• Works cooperatively with classroom teachers and related services in planning an effective, comprehensive physical education program.
• Assesses the learning, social, and emotional needs and styles of students.
• Evaluates each pupil’s growth in physical education-related knowledge and skills, maintains records of pupils’ progress and summarizes these marks for reporting purposes and writing summaries in student Individual Education Plans (IEP's).
• Provides appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment to ensure the overall safety of pupils.
• Assumes responsibility for proper use and storage of physical education equipment.
• Hourly Rate:$40–$42 per hour
• Schedule: 27.5 hours per week (part-time)
• Hours: 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM (includes a 30-minute paid lunch break)

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher (Required)
• New Jersey Physical Education Teaching Certification (Required)
• New Jersey Standard Instructional Certification (Required)
