Jersey City Community Charter School is looking for a passionate and experienced individual to work with us as a Middle School Science Teacher

This position is full-time, with a typical work week of Monday-Friday: 7:45 am - 4:00 pm

You will be responsible for planning and preparing teaching strategies.

As an ideal candidate, you should hold a bachelor's degree in education or a related field. You should possess an ability to communicate with the students in a patient manner.

Prior work experience as a Middle School Science Teacher or a similar role will be an added advantage for the candidates. You should hold a valid teaching license issued by the state as well.

Responsibilities

• Developing a teaching program and teaching strategies.
• Creating interesting and creative teaching materials.
• Preparing numerous instructional activities.
• Keeping the classroom under control.
• Working closely with the struggling students.
• Organizing ongoing training lessons.
• Creating lessons according to the student's capabilities.
• Encouraging students to learn in an engaging environment.
• Keeping the classroom well organized and clean.
• Conducting tests and examinations for the students.
• Monitoring the students' progress.
• Assigning grades to the students.
• Solving any problems that the students might face.
• Performing administrative duties as and when required.
• Staying updated with the latest trends in the Education industry.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education or a related degree.
• Working experience in the Education department as Middle School Science Teacher
• A valid New Jersey teaching license Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE) and or proof of passing the praxis (Must have Middle School Endorsement)
• Sound knowledge of teaching strategies and practices.
• Extensive understanding and knowledge of child development practices.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently.
