Lower School Teacher Assistant

We are looking for a teacher assistant who wants to make an impact. You're right for this role if you believe that all students can succeed, you're hungry to grow in your practice, and you thrive in a highly collaborative, innovative, joyful environment focused on changing kids' lives for the better. This teacher assistant will support students in their classrooms, at lunch, and  might cover a class or substitute teach for a teacher at times as well.

Our lower school teacher assistants will:

• convey their passion for students' growth academically and socially and emotionally.
• obtain a substitute teaching license
• enjoy supporting students during lunch and recess as a time to build connections and bring joy into their day.
• believe that stepping in to cover classes provides them with valuable learning opportunities.
• be passionate about supporting students' learning and organizational skills.

The skills our lower school teacher assistants need are:

• Having a passion for working with young learners.
• Being ready to assist students and teachers in facilitating small group instruction.
• Building strong relationships with students and families
• Supporting students and teachers in terms of meeting the needs of individualized education plans and 504s.
• Flexibility because some days you might substitute teach and another day you are covering lunch and recess. Be ready for some surprises and welcome them.
