We are currently seeking experienced Special Inspectors for immediate openings on various Building, Transportation, and Infrastructure projects in New York City. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge and field experience in construction inspection, with a focus on quality and safety.
Requirements- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. - Experience:
Minimum of 2 years inspecting construction work in NYC, across projects of varying size and complexity. - Code Knowledge:
Familiarity with Chapter 17 of the NYC Building Code. - Certifications:
Candidates must hold at least ONE of the following valid certifications:- ICC Soils Special Inspector – REQUIRED
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician—Grade I
- ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector
- NYS Licensed Professional Engineer (Civil)
- Additional Requirements:
- Current training in fall protection, scaffolding and ladders, work‑zone safety, and a minimum of OSHA 10‑hour construction safety certification.
- 30‑Hour OSHA is preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to interact effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to complete and submit inspection reports accurately and on time.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to obtain additional certifications as needed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Salary
: $30 – $40 per hour. - Annual Incentive Bonus Plan.
