A Professional Services firm based in Jersey City is seeking an experienced tax professional to join their team as a Tax Manager on their SALT team.
Base pay range$/yr - $/yr

Responsibilities- Manage U.S. state and local tax compliance for all entities, ensuring timely and accurate filings, including oversight of returns and tax forms prepared internally and by external advisors.
- Report to the U.S. VP of Tax on all state and local tax compliance, controversy, and 10-K/10-Q reporting matters.
- Oversee state and local tax matters, including income, franchise, gross receipts, sales and use, personal property, unclaimed property, and information reporting.
- Conduct research and determine the taxability of products and services across jurisdictions.
- Manage state and local tax controversy, including audits and responses to tax authority notices, in coordination with internal teams and external advisors.
- Support state and local tax planning, research, nexus analysis, and modeling of tax impacts.
- Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and non-U.S. colleagues on U.S. tax compliance and reporting requirements related to state and local taxes.
- Monitor tax law developments and assess their impact on the organization, while managing other state and local tax matters as needed.
- Advanced degree in Taxation or professional tax qualification (CPA or LL.M. in Tax).
- Strong knowledge of U.S. state and local tax laws, regulations, and concepts.
- Six to nine years of progressive tax experience within large, complex organizations and public accounting environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Alteryx and One Source Tax Provision (OTP) preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical skills with strong technical tax research capabilities.
- Excellent written communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-directed professional with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and supervise staff, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
