Job SummaryAs the HR Generalist, you will deliver a comprehensive range of human resources services aligned with company business objectives, strategic goals, and HR initiatives. You will act as the primary HR contact for our remote workforce regarding HR‑related matters. In partnership with Senior HR Managers, you will assist both managers and employees in effectively utilizing HR tools to optimize performance, enhance engagement, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Additional areas of focus will include leading and supporting HR initiatives in employee relations, performance management, compensation, corporate social responsibility (CSR), employee engagement activities, immigration coordination, onboarding and offboarding, training, and other special projects as required.
- Act as primary HR contact for all remote employees, providing employee relations guidance and support.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding TMA policies, procedures, and programs.
- Assist with the development and administration of TMA's human resource policies, procedures, and programs.
- Assist with administration of performance management and compensation/bonus programs.
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding practices as needed.
- Prepare Executive‑facing monthly reports for TMA HR metrics (e.g., turnover, payroll costs, recruitment, etc.). Develop Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations on HR topics.
- Assist with the planning of company‑wide employee engagement events, social gatherings, and CSR initiatives.
- Collaborate with the HR Team to draft, review and edit internal employee communications and coordinate newsletter topics.
- Support or lead TMA’s HR social media efforts on our various platforms.
- Coordinate with Benefits on leave‑related issues and/or ADA interactive process.
- Partner with Enterprise Training to coordinate on‑site training programs.
- Respond to unemployment notices, wage claims, and employment verifications.
- Maintain I‑9 forms in compliance with federal laws.
- Maintain Human Resource information system records and compile reports from database.
- Coordinate with outside counsel on immigration matters and processes (e.g., H‑1B transfers, extensions, Green Card sponsor ships).
- Monitor the external HR environment to develop strategies for the organization to respond to opportunities or difficulties identified.
- Remain current on latest HR trends, employment laws, and practices. Continuously look to improve processes to increase the level and quality of service provided to internal customers.
- Comply with proper internal controls as needed to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at the Company.
- BA/BS preferred. HR‑related degree preferred.
- PHR and/or SHRM‑CP certification preferred.
- 3+ years of direct HR experience required; HR Generalist experience preferred.
- Knowledge of HR best practices, applicable federal, state, and local employment laws/regulations.
- Understanding of business concepts and processes needed for sound decisions in the company’s context.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Strong writing and communication skills, strong analytical ability, and strong attention to detail.
- Superior customer service orientation toward Business Units requiring HR consult (responsive, consultative, collaborative and accurate).
- Strong project‑management skills: plan, organize, monitor, and control projects to achieve objectives and deadlines.
- Sound judgment when responding to and handling various employee matters.
- Experience in insurance organizations and/or international companies preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Salary range $70,000 to $80,000. Ultimate salary offered will be based on factors such as applicant experience and geographic location. The company offers a competitive benefits package and bonus eligibility on top of base.
