Overview
Senior Network Engineer on-site daily. US Citizens or Green Card Holders only.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join and lead our IT network team. This role requires a deep understanding of network infrastructure design, implementation, and management to support and enhance our organization's connectivity and security. As a team lead, you will oversee a group of network engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to drive successful project delivery and team performance.
Key Responsibilities- Network Infrastructure:
Design, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN/WAN environments, including Cisco routers, switches (Catalyst, Nexus, and ISR series), and SD-WAN solutions. - Wireless Network Management:
Implement and maintain Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC) and Access Points (APs), including conducting WiFi site surveys and troubleshooting. - Cloud Technologies:
Configure and manage Azure infrastructure to support organizational needs. - Network Security:
Deploy and configure firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA), VPNs, and other security measures to maintain the integrity of the network. Perform vulnerability assessments and apply necessary remediations. - Switch and Router Management:
Configure, upgrade, and migrate network hardware, including equipment specific to the organization. - Protocol Management:
Troubleshoot and optimize routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VLANs, HSRP, and spanning tree technologies. - Automation and Monitoring:
Utilize Python, Ansible, and network monitoring tools (e.g., Solar Winds, PRTG) to automate tasks and monitor network performance. - Project Management:
Lead and participate in network infrastructure projects, including migrations, upgrades, and new installations. - Incident Management:
Use Jira to manage tickets and resolve network-related issues efficiently. - Team Leadership/
Collaboration:
Collaborate with other IT teams to align network systems with business requirements and ensure optimal performance. - Lead and mentor a team of network engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure deadlines are met on projects and daily operations.
- Participate in regular team meetings to review objectives, address challenges, and align team efforts with organizational goals. Provide technical guidance and training to team members to enhance their skills and career development.
- 5+ years in Distribution or Manufacturing Industry.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. - Experience:
10+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with significant expertise in enterprise environments. - Certifications:
CCIE or CCNP preferred. - Technical
Skills:
Advanced knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and F5 systems; proficiency in IP protocols, network redundancy, and load-balancing technologies; strong background in security, including firewalls, ACLs, and DMZ policies; hands-on experience with SD-WAN, wireless networking, and cloud services. - Tools:
Python/Ansible scripting and network monitoring tools. - Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
