Role Overview: As a Technical Architect for the Global Payments Strategy, you will collaborate with key team members to ensure the delivery of a modern, cloud-based payments architecture. This involves transitioning from existing platforms to innovative, distributed systems leveraging cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities include:

Supporting the definition and implementation of reference architectures.

Capturing business capabilities and transforming them into shared services.

Designing cost-effective infrastructures for critical applications and processes.

Influencing and implementing corporate standards for application and infrastructure designs.

Managing the infrastructure lifecycle, including expansions, technology refreshes, and upgrades.

Creating Conceptual and Target State Architectures aligned with business needs.

Designing complex, multi-platform payment subsystems for real-time and non-real-time transactions.

Integrating business requirements with technology standards and system engineering.

Leading technical decisions and mentoring engineering teams, including code reviews and hands-on coding.

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in transaction processing systems, preferably on distributed and open-source platforms.

Broad knowledge of technology architectures: storage, networking, databases, Linux, zOS, web and application servers, load balancing.

Expertise in Java, Multi-Threading, Parallel Computing, and Asynchronous architectures.

Experience with distributed messaging systems like AMQP, Web Sphere MQ, Kafka, Qpid.

Familiarity with application frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Akka, Storm, Micro-Services.

Understanding of cloud technologies and providers:
Docker, Mesos, Kubernetes, AWS, Google Cloud, Azure.

Financial analysis experience for technology investments.

Demonstrated leadership and influence across geographies.

Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred: experience in Retail, Mortgage, or Credit Card banking.

Educational background:
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Business; MBA or MS preferred.
