As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan

Chase within the Corporate Technology - Data Analytics Platform team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market‑leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Join our Corporate Data & Analytics Platform team to create impactful, scalable solutions. Collaborate with experts across Corporate Technology and central platform teams to drive meaningful change. Bring your engineering skills to a team that values creativity, quality, and continuous learning. In the Data strategy team, you will work closely with engineering teams to enable capabilities on Databricks, test and evaluate new Databricks features, and contribute best practices and runbooks to support platform enablement.

responsibilities
  • Support implementation and scaling of core data lake capabilities on Databricks, including ingestion, processing, governance, cataloging, quality, lineage, access, and consumption
  • Test and evaluate new Databricks features; participate in PoCs and help integrate useful capabilities into the platform
  • Assist in performance and reliability improvements through tuning, load/stress testing, and monitoring
  • Document best practices, guardrails, runbooks, and onboarding materials for broader CDAP engineer reference
  • Explore agentic solutions and tools to enhance automation, developer experience, and operational efficiency
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to learn
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Proficient in coding in one or more languages such as Python and SQL
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
  • Hands on experience in cloud data or platform engineering including implementation experience
  • Working knowledge of AWS:
    Virtual Private Clouds, subnets, routing, security groups, and NACLs
  • Hands on experience with Kubernetes (EKS) and/or AWS ECS
  • Proficient in observability tools and practices
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Hands on expereince with Terraform or Databricks
