The Commercial Property Product team handles Commercial Property, Commercial Inland Marine, Equipment Breakdown, and other minor property lines. Responsibilities include analyzing and pricing new and emerging insurance risks, improving pricing methodologies, securing filings for pricing changes, supporting coverage change filings, and maintaining customer focus.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex actuarial problems, collaborating on high-profile projects, owning parts of processes, and explaining technical work to non-technical audiences. The role focuses on analyzing current rating factors, developing new ones, and supporting updates for Commercial Property and other lines. A solid understanding of rate making, data analysis skills, and the ability to work independently are essential. The candidate will also support the filing process and communicate with various ISO Underwriting areas.

Responsibilities
  • Develop enhancements and innovations in actuarial products and procedures for Commercial Property rate making.
  • Collaborate with ISO divisions on new actuarial or underwriting-focused products.
  • Engage with customers through presentations and inquiries.
  • Provide analyses to support and improve existing Commercial Property actuarial products.
  • Analyze market, industry, legal, and regulatory trends to inform business decisions.
  • Interact with regulatory authorities for product filings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or related fields.
  • Passage of three or more actuarial exams;
    Exam 5 preferred.
  • 3+ years of P&C actuarial experience, property and/or pricing preferred.
  • Strong data analysis skills, both quantitative and qualitative.
  • Ability to lead initiatives, work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of market and industry trends.
  • Familiarity with predictive analytics modeling is a plus.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Python, Access, Excel desired.
