Position: Immigration Staff Attorney - NJ Based

We seek a motivated, passionate, hard-working individual to join us as an Immigration Staff Attorney.

What You'll Do

As an Immigration Staff Attorney, you'll be part of our frontline legal team serving clients in vulnerable positions. You'll handle a full caseload, meet directly with clients, and work closely with paralegals, support staff, and community partners to deliver excellent legal service and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Have 2+ years attorney experience in immigration cases: VAWA, T
    - Visa, U
    - Visa, SIJS.
  • Have a license to work in the United States. (If you do NOT have a license to work in the USA, please DO NOT APPLY)
  • Conduct intakes and legal consultations with potential clients.
  • Develop and execute legal strategies with empathy and precision.
  • Stay current with immigration law changes and contribute to internal training sessions.
  • Participate in community outreach events, legal clinics, and pro bono efforts.
  • Be friendly and client-focused.
  • Demonstrate growth/continuous improvement mindset.
  • Creative problem-solving, flexibility, and prioritization skills.
  • Positive, can-do attitude; committed to excellence.
  • Effective communication with honesty, empathy, and clarity.
  • Membership in the Bar is mandatory.
Must Have / Additional Qualities
  • Bilingual (Spanish fluent or native/English).
  • Quick learner; able to adapt to new systems and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attitude, character, personality, and integrity are important.
  • IT skills (Google Workspace/Suite, Excel, Slack, Monday, Immigration Case Management Systems).
  • Ability to respond with appropriate urgency; detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for furthering immigrant rights; responsive to clients, legal team, and CEO.
  • Strong writing skills.
