Part‑Time Residential Assistant – Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is one of New Jersey’s largest non‑profit social service agencies with programs serving Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties.
We are currently seeking a Part‑Time Residential Assistant for our Hope House Family Shelter for women and children, located in Jersey City, NJ.
Responsibilities- Carry out designated services in the shelter and monitor activity of residents and visitors to ensure program policies and safety parameters are maintained.
- Provide residents with supplies as needed, answer telephone calls in a professional manner, and assist callers.
- Supervise and secure all building areas, and respond quickly and appropriately to crisis situations to safeguard all participants.
- Accurately complete all required program documentation, including program logs, statistics tracking sheets, incident reports, and work orders.
- High school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of related experience preferred.
- OR 3 years of experience working with the homeless population in lieu of a HS diploma or GED.
