Backend Java Developer – Prime Brokerage

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and optimize high-performance backend applications supporting a mission-critical Prime Brokerage reporting platform. The application generates approximately 200,000 reports daily and distributes up to 1 million reports per day, requiring exceptional performance, scalability, and reliability to meet strict service-level agreements (SLAs).

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Core Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and microservices.
Develop and optimize multithreaded applications to support high-volume processing and concurrency.
Perform JVM tuning, analyze runtime behavior, and troubleshoot performance issues.
Develop database integrations using Oracle Exadata, JDBC, SQL, PL/SQL, and stored procedures.
Perform data processing, profiling, and validation within backend applications.
Utilize Linux, shell scripting, and command-line tools for development and troubleshooting.
Develop and maintain solutions using Java, Python, and shell scripting.
Collaborate with offshore teams to ensure high-quality delivery and timely project execution.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
Strong expertise in Core Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
Hands-on Oracle Exadata experience is required.
Extensive experience with multithreading and concurrent programming.
Strong knowledge of Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, JDBC, and database integration.
Experience with JVM tuning, application performance optimization, and Linux environments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing or supporting high-volume reporting applications.
Experience with Python and shell scripting.
An AI-first mindset with an interest in innovation, strategic thinking, and process improvement.
