Java Lead Software Engineer, Governance & Controls

Salary: $61, per year

• We need practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• We need hands-on full stack software engineering experience, including a track record of building and deploying business-critical production applications.
• We need proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, JPA, and SQL, with the ability to learn additional programming languages as needed.
• We need experience with React and other front-end technologies.
• We need experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and the ability to critically validate and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• We need an understanding of how to incorporate AI into engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, input curation, performance measurement, model tuning, and resiliency and security expectations.
• We need demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted development tools and setting team expectations for validating AI outputs.
• We need a strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including secure handling of inputs and outputs, and experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
• We need knowledge of cloud-based development.
• We need experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment, including use of database query languages.
• We need overall knowledge of the software development life cycle, including agile practices such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Preferred: experience with Python for model development, experimentation, and integration with LLM APIs.
• Preferred: experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, and microservices design, implementation, and performance optimization.

• We design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions, using sound judgment to solve complex problems beyond routine approaches.
• We create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with the appropriate systems.
• We produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure design constraints are met through code development.
• We use enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
• We apply knowledge of software development life cycle tools, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted automation capabilities, to increase the value delivered by automation.
• We gather, analyze, synthesize, and visualize large and diverse data sets to support continuous improvement of applications and systems.
• We proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data and use those insights to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
• We contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events focused on emerging technologies.
• We work independently on modules with minimal support.
