** This is a Class B position**
The Driver will safely and efficiently drive a large commercial vehicle long distance to transport goods to customers daily. All safety regulations and standards regarding size, weight and break periods must be followed.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Long Distance driving of a 24-foot Straight Truck.
- Use GPS to stay informed on route information.
- Reading location and road maps.
- Deliver a wide variety of cold dairy products to multiple customer locations and collect empty cases.
- Communicating and coordinating with dispatchers.
- Following and complying with all DOT regulations, applicable traffic laws and safety standards.
- Following and maintain loading protocols to secure load and properly arrange within the vehicle. Unload cases of product manually with various tools.
- Effectively delivering and unloading dairy products to customer locations on an assigned route schedule.
- Verifying accurate delivery count, inventory and assure saleable condition of products.
- Completing delivery paperwork regarding mileage, mileage, fuel, and toll expenses; confirm inventory matches shipping documents.
- Maintaining detailed documentation on computerized handheld device.
- Collection of money from customers and record transactions on receipts.
- Submit daily customer paperwork including invoices, load orders, and handheld reports
- Resolve discrepancies and report issues to management
- Perform pre and post trip motor vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Complete and submit driver logs and inspection record
- Reporting any accidents or vehicle issues encountered while driving to supervisor.

- At least 6 months of similar experience
- Education
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid and current Class A or B Commercial Driver License (CDL)
- Technical Knowledge
- Clean/solid driving record
- Proficient at driving, maneuvering, and parking large vehicles
- Follow and comply with all DOT regulations and safety standards
- Additional Skills/Notes
- Good communication skills to interact with customers and dispatcher
- Ability to lift 75 pounds
- Dependability
- Must provide current MVR and medical certificate
- Experience in operating truck in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
- Organizational and time management skills
- 2+ years delivery driving experience preferred
This position operates primarily within a controlled office environment. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate. Employees may experience swings in work-related demands of this position.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to drive large vehicle daily, talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. The position often requires sitting for long periods of time in a vehicle.
