Description
Summary: Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age specific needs; provides age specific care. Demonstrates knowledge/skills to perform diagnostic Ultrasound procedures; recognizes normal/abnormal anatomy and pathology. Deviates from routine/extends scope of exam when incidental abnormality is identified; correlates clinical history with information obtained from exam. Ensures that patients are properly identified and prepared for procedures.
Maintains current knowledge of techniques and equipment. Adjusts/operates equipment to obtain the correct application for each study. Transports patients to and from the department; assists in the general care of patients in the department. Answers the telephone, greets/directs patients and visitors, and performs other related clerical duties. Utilizes PACS to maintain accurate records; transfers studies to outside facilities, and/or copies studies to discs.
Exhibits positive communication and interpersonal skills with patients, guests, physicians, technologists, and other JCH staff to ensure each patient receives excellent care. Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.
- Per-Diem - minimum of 2 shifts per month

- Education and Experience
- ARDMS board certification required.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) preferred.
- Echo vascular experience preferred.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge/skills to meet certification/licensure/performance standards.
- Work is of medium to heavy demand.
- Routine lifting requirements of a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Stands and walks for most of the shift.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling, sitting, bending, and reaching required.
- May be exposed to infectious diseases.
