Non-profit Donor Research Analyst

Room to Read is looking for a Donor Research Analyst to support our global fundraising work by turning donor information into clear, actionable insight.

This role combines research, data, AI tools, and fundraising operations. You’ll support fundraisers with donor research, event briefings, clean Salesforce‑ready data, and background checks—working fast when needed, but always with strong judgment and accuracy.

This is an active, hands‑on role focused on producing timely, practical insights that directly support fundraising decisions. You’ll help shape how research is done, improve workflows, and use AI responsibly to work smarter as our fundraising efforts grow.

What you’ll do
  • Research individuals, foundations, and companies to support fundraising strategy
  • Prepare short, high-quality briefing notes for donor meetings, events, and leadership engagements
  • Clean and prepare donor data for Salesforce
  • Review publicly available information (such as news articles, public records, and organizational websites) to identify any potential reputational, ethical, or compliance concerns related to donors or partners
  • Use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT or similar) to speed up research and data work, while verifying important details before use.
  • Build simple templates and workflows that improve speed and consistency
What we’re looking for
  • 2–3 years of experience in research, analytics, fundraising operations, or data‑focused roles
  • Strong research skills and good judgment about what information is useful
  • Comfort working with Excel and structured data
  • Experience working with Salesforce or other CRMs (NPSP a plus, not required)
  • Familiarity with donor research tools (e.g., iWave, Apollo.io, Zoom Info)
  • Ability to work under deadlines, especially around fundraising events
  • Careful handling of sensitive information and attention to detail

If you enjoy research, problem‑solving, and improving systems—and want your work to directly support education and literacy globally we’d love to hear from you.
