Student Nurse Tech - Per Diem

Description

• Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Assists nurse with patients and family education.
• Documents and collects clinical data.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient’s needs.
• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team.
• Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

• CPR or BLS Certification
• Must be enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Nursing Program for the duration of employment.
• Must maintain enrollment in Nursing Program for the duration of employment as a Student Nurse Tech.
• This position is for nursing students only, if a student leaves the nursing program they are enrolled in for any reasons, they can no longer be a student nurse tech.
• Must have successfully completed 2 semesters of nursing clinicals, and completed a medical surgical course.

Skills/Abilities:

• Able to establish professional relationships with various health care workers
• Work cooperatively with others as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

• Work is of medium to heavy demand.
• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
• May be exposed to infectious diseases.
