Job Summary
The primary role of the Systems Engineer Technical Expert is to provide technical leadership and hands‑on support for a Zero Trust implementation supporting mission‑critical environments. This role focuses on systems engineering, architecture development, and technical integration across Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) capabilities. You’ll work closely with engineering teams, developers, and security stakeholders to design, document, and implement secure, compliant Zero Trust solutions.
PositionResponsibilities
- Provide systems engineering and technical support for Zero Trust implementation efforts
- Collaborate with ICAM capability teams to define requirements, develop system architecture, and produce design documentation
- Perform technology assessments and support risk mitigation activities
- Provide hands‑on support for configuration management, installation troubleshooting, and cloud‑based technologies
- Apply industry, federal, and DoD standards and policies to system designs and implementations
- Create and maintain ICAM Zero Trust documentation including release notes, installation guides, user guides, frameworks, SOPs, and implementation plans
- Work with technologies such as REST, Oracle/MySQL, Mongo
DB, Postgre
SQL, JSON, XML, Docker, AWS, NiFi, and Single Sign‑On solutions (OAuth and SAML) - Research and analyze cloud security environments and architectures
- Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities and DoD accreditation documentation
- Identify capability gaps and recommend enhancements for ICAM services
- Define implementation processes and outline hardware and software considerations
- Assist software development teams with requirements tracking, sprint planning, design input, and testing support
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting Zero Trust implementations in a systems engineering capacity
- Experience working with ICAM capability teams to define requirements and develop architecture
- Hands‑on experience with configuration management, installation troubleshooting, and cloud technologies
- Knowledge of industry, federal, and DoD security standards and policies
- Experience producing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for ICAM and Zero Trust initiatives
- Proficiency with REST, Oracle/MySQL, Mongo
DB, Postgre
SQL, JSON, XML, Docker, AWS, NiFi, and Single Sign‑On technologies (OAuth and SAML) - Experience researching and analyzing cloud security environments
- Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework and DoD accreditation processes
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify capability gaps and system enhancements
- Experience supporting software development teams with requirements tracking, sprint planning, design input, and testing
- An active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Experience supporting large‑scale enterprise or mission environments
- Ability to translate security mandates into practical system implementations
- Strong collaboration skills across engineering, development, and security teams
$190,000 – $250,000
