We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-directed Human Resources Coordinator to support day-to-day HR operations, employee onboarding, compliance activities, reporting, personnel records management, and employee engagement initiatives. This role is ideal for an organized HR professional who can work independently, manage confidential information, and provide exceptional support to employees across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Complete pre-employment activities and coordinate biweekly new hire orientation and onboarding processes.
- Manage daily HR administrative functions to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including attendance tracking, separations, and training initiatives.
- Respond professionally and promptly to employee inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
- Prepare and distribute weekly HR reports covering terminations, headcount, payroll updates, milestone anniversaries, and leave of absence activity.
- Review and process HR-related mail, including invoices, unemployment claims, and garnishment requests.
- Maintain accurate personnel records in both electronic and paper filing systems.
- Support employee engagement programs and DEI initiatives that promote an inclusive and positive workplace culture.
- Assist with HR compliance efforts and administrative projects as assigned.
- Previous Human Resources experience in a coordinator, assistant, or related HR support role.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
- Experience navigating and utilizing the Workday HRIS platform.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a union environment.
- Experience conducting internal investigations and handling ethics-related matters.
- Familiarity with employee relations, compliance, and HR reporting processes.
