Senior Data Scientist – Data and Machine Learning, WWPS Pro Serve

Join Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Senior Data Scientist in the US Federal Professional Services team, working directly with the US Intelligence Community and other public sector entities to adopt Machine Learning and Generative AI solutions.

In this role you will design, build, and implement AI algorithms for text, image, video, audio, and multimodal use cases using both traditional ML and state‑of‑the‑art generative models, including large language models and text‑to‑image generation. You will collaborate across the AWS organization, engage with customers, and provide insights that drive product innovation.

Key responsibilities:

• Collaborate with AI/ML scientists and architects to research, design, develop, and evaluate AI algorithms addressing real‑world challenges.
• Interact directly with customers to understand business problems, guide implementation of AI solutions, and deliver briefing and deep‑dive sessions.
• Create and deliver best‑practice recommendations, tutorials, blog posts, sample code, and presentations tailored to technical, business, and executive stakeholders.
• Provide customer and market feedback to Product and Engineering teams to help define product direction.
• Travel up to 25% locally as required.

This position requires that you currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with Polygraph and that you opt into a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which you perform AWS work.

• 5+ years of experience with data querying languages (SQL), scripting languages (Python), or statistical/mathematical software (R, SAS, Matlab).
• 4+ years of data scientist experience.
• Experience with statistical models such as multinomial logistic regression.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.

• 2+ years of data visualization using AWS Quick Sight, Tableau, R Shiny, or similar.
• Experience managing data pipelines.
• Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team.
