Medical Technologist & Lab Technician, Clinical Research
I. Job Summary
It is the responsibility of the Medical Laboratory Technician to collect laboratory specimens as requested. The specimens are analyzed according to laboratory standards, recorded accurately so that the best service possible is available to the physicians for use in diagnosis and treatment of the patient.
II. Duties And ResponsibilitiesOther Responsibilities:
Employee will be required to be readily available to work during any weather related incidents or other natural disasters and/or any emergency situations that may rise.
III. EducationA.S. degree, MLT (ASCP) certification or MLT classification as recognized by GDCH with certification. Licensure:
None. Education and/or In-services to verify ability to obtain specimens appropriately for the age of the patient i.e., Geriatrics, Pediatrics. Certification: MLT classification as recognized by ASCP, AAB or AMT.
With credentials and hospital orientation, entry level into position. Experience preferred.
