Accounts Technician; Xero

Overview

We are seeking a technically strong Accounts Technician (Xero) to support a UK-based accounting firm by maintaining accurate financial records across a portfolio of client accounts.

This role is suited to someone with strong accounting practice experience who can independently manage client bookkeeping, perform reconciliations, and prepare accounts to trial balance level for accountant review.

You will work across multiple client entities and play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and readiness for reporting and compliance.

• Manage and maintain bookkeeping for multiple client entities
• Maintain and reconcile client accounts in Xero
• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy
• Prepare trial balances for accountant review
• Assist with onboarding new clients and setting up Xero accounts
• Maintain and review chart of accounts
• Identify discrepancies and resolve issues
• Ensure client accounts are accurate and complete
• Support accountants with preparation of client financial records

• Minimum 3–5 years experience in accounting practice environment
• Strong Xero experience (essential)
• Experience managing multiple client accounts
• Strong reconciliation and ledger management skills
• Experience preparing accounts to trial balance
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Excellent attention to detail

• Accounting or bookkeeping qualification advantageous
• Experience working with UK accounting firms
