SAICA Trainee Accountant

A well-established Accounting & Audit Firm based in Houghton Estate, Johannesburg is seeking a motivated and ambitious SAICA Trainee to join its professional team. This opportunity is ideal for an individual who is committed to qualifying as a Chartered Accountant and is looking to complete their SAICA articles within a professional environment that offers practical exposure and ongoing development. The successful candidate will gain experience across a range of audit and accounting engagements while working closely with experienced professionals.

• Assist with the planning and execution of audit engagements
• Prepare audit working papers and supporting documentation
• Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures
• Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements
• Prepare and maintain accurate client working files
• Liaise with clients to obtain information and supporting documentation
• Identify and communicate audit findings to senior team members
• Assist with accounting and related client engagements where required
• Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
• Work collaboratively with senior team members throughout the training programme

• Studying towards or completed a SAICA-accredited accounting qualification
• Eligible to commence or continue SAICA articles
• Genuine interest in pursuing a career as a Chartered Accountant
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
• Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong willingness to learn and develop professionally
