About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Cost Accountant to join their finance department in Soweto
. This role is essential for analyzing production costs, managing inventory valuation, and providing critical data to support manufacturing and operational decision-making. You will play a key part in identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving the efficiency of production processes. • Analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials and overhead, to determine product costs accurately.
• Develop and maintain standard costing systems and analyze variances between standard and actual costs.
• Manage inventory valuation, including cycle counting and physical inventory procedures.
• Prepare cost-related reports, including cost-volume-profit analysis and profitability reports.
• Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process for production costs.
• Collaborate with production and operations teams to identify cost reduction opportunities and implement efficiency improvements.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation methods, and standard costing.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills for data analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
