Johannesburg6 Month Fixed Term Contract

DESCRIPTION:

The appointed resource will be required to ensure continuity of operations and will report directly to the Finance Manager within the Finance Department.

The service provider will be required to undertake the following as part of the scope of work:

• Payroll process
• Validate the invoicing database
• Provide accounting solutions to enquiries
• Review and supervise the processing of receipts to ensure there are no misallocations
• Ensure that direct deposits into the bank are processed
• Investigate and resolve debtors with credit balances
• Perform weekly bank reconciliations
• Interact effectively with the bank daily
• Handle bank queries relating to debtors
• Prepare revenue budget and rates to be used for invoicing
• Load the approved revenue budget onto Accounting ERP system
• Report on actual revenues against budget
• Laise with Auditors on revenue, debtors and budgets
• Prepare inputs into audit files and resolve audit queries
• Ensure workload is allocated appropriately amongst staff and deliverables/ measures/targets are discussed and agreed upon regularly with staff

• Degree in Accounting
• 3 years articles
• 3-5 years’ accounting experience as an accountant and in dealing with sales and debtors, purchases and disbursements
• Payroll
• General Ledger
• Reconciliation and reporting
• Knowledge of GRAP requirements and their application
• Knowledge of the PFMA and its application

• Invoicing and monthly statements
• Bank Reconciliation
• Yearly Budget
• Management Accounts

The tenure of the contract shall be for a fixed period of six (6) months.
