Overview

SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) is the leading independent provider of accredited Psychology, Counselling, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Social Work qualifications, with all courses grounded in psychology. We have campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online.

SACAP is looking for a permanent, full time Student Life and Leadership Advisor based at our Johannesburg Campus.

Responsibilities

The Student Life and Leadership Advisor plays a pivotal role in the Student Life and Leadership Centre, contributing to the holistic development and engagement of students. The advisor’s responsible is providing guidance, mentorship, and support to student leaders and organizations. The Advisor will collaborate with various stakeholders to design and implement leadership development programs, foster student engagement, and contribute to the overall success of the center.

The main purpose of the SLL advisor is to empower and assist students on their leadership development journey, ultimately improving their college experience. This role aims to cultivate an inclusive campus community where students can thrive academically, personally, and socially. The advisor plays a role, in mentoring student leaders, offering guidance to individuals who face challenges and organizing programs and initiatives that contribute to a lively campus environment.

Ultimately the main objective is to support the growth and success of students throughout their journey.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following;
    Psycholog, Social Sciences, Education, Community Development, Public Management / Administration, Human Sciences Or a related field relevant to student development and coordination.
  • Two years' experience in Higher Education
SKILLS
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Computer literate
  • Time management
  • Organized/structured.
  • Highly developed relationship building skills.

  • Enthusiasm for Higher Education in South Africa, particularly in the Private Higher Education sector (PHEI)

Operating Hours

This is a full-time position, permanent position, operating from Mondays to Fridays*:

Monday to Thursday: 08:30am to 17:00pm
Friday: 08:30am to 16:00pm
