Role Overview

The Edtech Teacher is responsible for developing foundational digital literacy skills and supporting the effective integration of technology into teaching. The role focuses on introducing age-appropriate ICT skills, coding, robotics and digital creativity, while supporting staff to use technology meaningfully in the classroom.

The role also includes introducing Students and staff to the responsible, ethical and age-appropriate use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a learning and teaching tool, in line with the school’s values, ethos and academic vision.

Duties (not an exhaustive list)
  • Teach Educational Technology / Digital Literacy lessons from Grades 3–7
  • Develop students’ digital literacy, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Introduce age-appropriate technology skills, including basic coding, robotics and digital creativity
  • Teach digital discernment skills such as evaluating information, understanding bias and responsible use of AI-generated content
  • Promote safe, responsible and ethical use of technology and digital platforms
  • Introduce foundational concepts of Artificial Intelligence, including how AI tools can support learning, creativity and inquiry
  • Support teachers in integrating technology and AI meaningfully into lesson design, differentiation, feedback and assessment
  • Support the effective use of learning platforms, educational apps and classroom technologies
  • Collaborate closely with academic staff to enhance teaching and learning experiences
  • Stay informed about current trends, research and best practices in educational technology and AI in education
Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant Teaching Qualification
  • A minimum of 3 years of full-time experience
  • Knowledge of Educational Technology, Digital Literacy, Coding and Robotics
  • An understanding of the opportunities and challenges presented by AI in education
  • SACE Registration
  • The ability to coach boys’ sports would be an advantage

  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning
