Position: PRE-PREPARATORY ED-TECH TEACHER

We are seeking to appoint an Ed-Tech Teacher to nurture a passion for information technology among students in our Pre-Preparatory classes (Grades 0, 1, and
2). The Ed-Tech Teacher will collaborate closely with other teaching staff to enrich the overall curriculum and support the values and ethos of St. John’s Pre-Preparatory. The ideal candidate will inspire young students through engaging, age‑appropriate lessons and interactive learning experiences, while fostering strong relationships with colleagues and parents, contributing to a well‑rounded and dynamic IT education programme.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure high standards in lesson planning and delivery and adapt lessons to meet the varying needs and abilities of children
  • Teach full, varied and stimulating Ed-Tech classes for Grades 0, 1, and 2, with an emphasis on building self-confidence, creative thinking, and cooperation in sharing ideas and skills
  • Provide high‑quality Ed-Tech education that develops foundational digital literacy, responsible technology use, and early computational thinking
  • Support students in developing age‑appropriate technology skills through engaging, hands‑on learning experiences
  • Maintain up-to-date records of assessment, attendance, and planning and ensure observational and written assessments in the respective school terms
  • Prepare reports on student progress for school administration and parents
  • Uphold the inclusive teaching and learning practices and find ways to better meet the needs of teachers and the students in the Pre-Preparatory
  • To collaborate with various stakeholders to set up and manage online links and digital tasks in support of school systems and processes.
  • Provide support in the preparation, compilation, and publication of report cards and the school magazine.
  • The ability to provide and manage digital links that effectively support teachers’ lessons and foster inquiry‑based learning.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree in ECD or BEd (Foundation Phase)
  • 2 - 5 years teaching experience in Early Childhood Development and/or Foundation Phase
  • Proof of being a recognised leader in the Educational Technology field
  • A high degree of technical expertise in current ICT‑related operating systems, i.e. Google, Windows, iOS, Android
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Learning Management Systems
  • Valid SACE registration
