RAN Optimization Engineer

Tangent International are urgently looking for a RAN Optimization Engineer to work a 3 month rolling contract based in South Africa (Johannesburg)

Responsibility:

• Conduct Drive Tests (DT) and stationary tests (CQT) for 4G/5G network coverage and performance.
• Collect, upload, and organize test log files and network data for analysis.
• Assist in RF optimization activities, including antenna tilt, azimuth, and power parameter adjustments.
• Support basic interference analysis and alarm monitoring via Network Management Systems (e.g. ZTE U31 / Net Numen).
• Prepare basic test and optimization reports.
• Work with senior engineers and participate in technical training.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering, IT, or related fields.
• Basic understanding of 4G/5G wireless network principles, system architecture, and key technologies.
• Familiarity with LTE/5G concepts such as Massive MIMO, QoS, and scheduling is preferred.
• Proactive working attitude, strong teamwork and communication skills, and good stress tolerance.
• Fresh graduates with relevant academic background are welcome; training will be provided.
