Minimum Requirements:
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) Mechanical/ Civil Engineering Diploma, Degree or BSc Honors
- Registered with ECSA as a Candidate Engineering Professional
- Minimum 1 Project involving Steel Pipe Projects of Diameter 450mm or more as site agent
- Minimum 1 Project involving Concrete Reservoirs of 10ml or more as a site agent
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction Projects working in mechanical/Civil projects
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a management role
- Ability to analyze drawings and designs
- Ability to work as an individual and in a team
- Proper time management and ability to work under pressure and preparedness to work overtime, when required
- Able to work and thrive in a high-stress and fast paced environment
- Conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labour costs
- Preparing, negotiating and analysing costs for tenders and contracts
- Manage procurement of mechanical equipment and materials
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers, architects, and consultants
- Review drawings, design specifications, and equipment schedules
- Project management and Assessing Project requirements
- Supervise installation of HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical components
- Inspect installations for compliance with specifications and standards
- Manage commissioning of systems, performance testing, and snag resolution
- Maintain detailed QA/QC records
- Ensure compliance with mechanical codes
- Coordinate mechanical works with other trades (electrical, civil, and structural)
- Designing and implementing equipment modifications HVAC Design
- Advising on a range of legal and contractual issues
- Perform field inspections
- Identify and mitigate mechanical and project related risks
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Compile O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and commissioning certificates
- Facilitate handover of mechanical systems to clients
- Good writing skills
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Problem solving skills and creativity
