Electrical Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join a renewable energy environment focused on Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and grid-connected energy projects
.

• Prepare electrical designs for Solar PV, BESS and hybrid energy projects
• Design MV and LV electrical systems, including SLDs, protection schemes, cable schedules and equipment layouts
• Conduct load flow, voltage drop, short circuit and protection coordination studies
• Design plant interconnection and grid connection infrastructure
• Develop technical specifications for electrical equipment and balance of plant
• Support grid connection applications and utility submissions
• Ensure compliance with NRS, SANS, Eskom, municipal and grid code requirements
• Provide engineering support through procurement, construction and commissioning
• Review contractor and supplier technical deliverables
• Support FATs, SATs, site inspections and technical issue resolution
• Provide technical input into tenders, proposals and project costing

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 3-8+ years' experience in electrical engineering
• Experience with in renewable energy, power generation, utilities, EPC or infrastructure
• Strong Solar PV and/or BESS experience
• MV and LV electrical design experience
• Experience with grid connection and utility-scale projects advantageous
• South African energy market experience preferred
• ECSA registration or progression towards Pr Eng advantageous
• AutoCAD experience
• ETAP, DIgSILENT Power Factory or similar advantageous
• PVsyst experience advantageous

A technically strong Electrical Engineer with hands-on experience across Solar PV and/or BESS projects, with the ability to support projects from concept design through to procurement, construction and commissioning
.

Strong experience in MV/LV systems, power system studies, protection, grid connection and South African electrical standards will be highly advantageous.
