A leading multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Project Planner to join its project controls team in Johannesburg. This role is ideal for engineering and project management professionals with strong expertise in Primavera P6 scheduling, project planning, construction management, engineering consultancy, infrastructure projects, risk management, and project controls.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting project delivery by developing project schedules, monitoring timelines, identifying risks, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely.

• Developing and maintaining detailed project schedules using Primavera Project Planner P6
• Supporting engineering, procurement, and construction teams with project planning activities
• Monitoring project progress, schedules, milestones, and deadlines
• Identifying schedule risks, delays, and mitigation strategies
• Coordinating with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders
• Assisting in estimating, tendering, budgeting, and forecasting processes
• Reviewing project performance and reporting deviations from baseline schedules
• Supporting contract administration involving NEC and FIDIC contract frameworks
• Providing planning support across multiple engineering disciplines
• Ensuring alignment with project management methodologies and company standards
• Maintaining strong adherence to health, safety, and behavioural-based safety principles
• Preparing reports, progress updates, and project documentation

• A Tertiary Qualification in Engineering or a relevant discipline
• Additional certifications in Project Management, Planning, Scheduling, or Construction Management will be advantageous
• Professional training in Primavera P6 is highly preferred

• Proven experience as a Project Planner, Planning Engineer, Scheduler, or Project Controls Specialist
• Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
• Strong understanding of project management principles
• Knowledge of estimating, tendering processes, construction techniques, and work methods
• Experience using Primavera Project Planner P6
• Understanding of risk management methodologies
• Knowledge of contract forms such as NEC and FIDIC

• Strong analytical and planning skills
• Advanced scheduling and reporting abilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines
• Strong technical understanding of engineering and construction projects
