Weare looking for a Mine Closure Consultant with experience in mine closureplanning and mine closure cost assessments to join our team supporting projects in Tanzania and across East Africa. Landform modelling and rehabilitationdesign experience will also be beneficial. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to practical, responsible and regulatory-compliant mine closuresolutions across a diverse portfolio of mining projects.

The successful candidate will develop mine closure strategies and liabilityassessments, support closure, decommissioning and rehabilitation projects, and contribute to practical and sustainable closure landforms. The role combines technical delivery, project management and collaboration with multidisciplinaryspecialists, clients and regulatory authorities. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and develop mine closure cost estimates, mine closure plans, closure and rehabilitation strategies and post-closure land-use planning.
  • Developor contribute to practical closure landform models and designs for waste rockdumps, tailings facilities, pits, stockpiles and other disturbed areas,considering drainage, slopes, erosion control, constructability and long-term stability.
  • Generate and interpret terrain models, survey data, engineering designs, GISinformation, cut-and-fill assessments and earthworks quantities for closureplanning and costing.
  • Prepare technical reports and input for closure, decommissioning, environmental authorisationand regulatory approval processes, including the regulatory engagement where applicable.
  • Monitor and evaluate closure and rehabilitation performance and provide technical guidance to clients.
  • Manageclosure-related project activities to ensure delivery on time, within budgetand to quality standards.
  • Conductfieldwork and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and regulatory authorities.
Requirements
  • Experience in mine closure planning, closure cost estimates, rehabilitation design andpost-mining land-use planning.
  • Practical experience in landform modelling, terrain design or earthworks modelling withinmining, mine closure, civil engineering or environmental consulting will be beneficial.
  • Proficiency in relevant modelling, design and spatial software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD,ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper or similar; mine planning software would be advantageous.
  • Abilityto interpret engineering designs, survey information, mine plans and spatial data, and develop earthworks quantities and design inputs.
  • Understandingdrainage, erosion and sediment control, slope shaping, material balances,practical rehabilitation techniques and legal and best practice mine closurerequirements.
  • Strong technical report writing, numerical and analytical ability, with willingness to undertake fieldwork at mining operations and remote locations.
  • Trainingor demonstrated competence in CAD, GIS, spatial analysis, terrain modelling ormine planning software would be advantageous
