About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join their team in Randburg , operating on a hybrid work basis. You will be responsible for the specification, design, implementation, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems for industrial processes. This role is critical for ensuring the accuracy, safety, and efficiency of our operations through advanced monitoring and control solutions.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background in instrumentation, control theory, and automation, coupled with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in both remote and on-site settings.
- Specify, select, and validate instrumentation for process measurement (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level).
- Design and implement control loops and logic for process automation systems.
- Configure and calibrate instrumentation and control devices.
- Develop and maintain control system documentation, including P&IDs, logic diagrams, and calibration records.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to instrumentation and control systems hardware and software.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to optimize process performance and reliability.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering .
- Strong understanding of process control principles and feedback loops.
- Experience with various types of industrial instrumentation and transmitters.
- Familiarity with PLC/DCS systems and HMI development.
- Proficiency in calibrating instruments and troubleshooting control system failures.
