About the Role
Our client is looking for an accomplished Senior Water Resources Engineer to lead critical projects from their Randburg office. This role focuses on the sustainable management and development of water resources, encompassing water supply, wastewater treatment, and stormwater management systems. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing the implementation of complex water infrastructure projects, ensuring efficiency, environmental compliance, and public health.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the water infrastructure landscape in Gauteng and contributing to sustainable development goals.
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of water supply, distribution, and treatment systems.
- Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water networks, reservoirs, and pumping stations.
- Develop strategies for wastewater collection, treatment, and discharge, adhering to environmental regulations.
- Design and manage stormwater management systems, including drainage, flood control, and attenuation.
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and tender documents.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior water engineers and technicians.
- BEng or BSc in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with a specialization in Water Resources.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in water resources engineering and infrastructure design.
- Professional registration (Pr Eng) with ECSA is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in water modeling software (e.g., EPANET, HEC-RAS, SWMM).
- Strong understanding of water quality, treatment processes, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent project management, client liaison, and team leadership skills.
