About the Role
Our client, a prominent player in the Energy sector, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their dynamic team in Johannesburg . This critical role involves optimizing hydrocarbon recovery and managing reservoir performance through sophisticated analysis and modeling. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of geoscientists, production engineers, and management to develop and implement long-term reservoir management strategies.

- Develop and maintain detailed reservoir simulation models to forecast production and evaluate development scenarios.
- Perform decline curve analysis, material balance calculations, and volumetric assessments to estimate reserves.
- Design and implement enhanced oil recovery (EOR) strategies and monitor their effectiveness.
- Analyze production data, identify performance issues, and recommend corrective actions to optimize recovery rates.
- Collaborate with geologists and geophysicists to integrate subsurface data into reservoir models.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and regulatory bodies regarding reservoir performance and development plans.
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in reservoir engineering within the upstream oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency with reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, INTERSECT) and data analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of petrophysics, geology, and production engineering principles.
- Experience with reserve estimation and reporting standards (e.g., SPE, PRMS).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
