About the Role
Our client, a technology-driven company in Randburg , is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in systems integration. This role demands expertise in designing and integrating complex mechanical components into larger systems, ensuring seamless functionality and optimal performance. You will be instrumental in developing innovative solutions for advanced electro-mechanical products. This is a key position within our engineering department, contributing to cutting-edge technology development in Gauteng .
Key Responsibilities- Lead the mechanical design and integration of complex electro-mechanical systems, sub-assemblies, and components.
- Develop detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and tolerance analyses using advanced CAD software .
- Perform rigorous FEA simulations to validate structural integrity, thermal performance, and vibration characteristics.
- Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful system integration.
- Define and implement testing protocols for integrated systems and troubleshoot complex integration issues.
- Contribute to the development of system architecture and component selection based on performance requirements.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design and systems integration, with a focus on complex electro-mechanical products.
- Extensive experience with 3D CAD tools (e.g., Solid Works, Inventor) and FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
- Proven ability to integrate mechanical components with electronics, sensors, and control systems.
- Deep understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and reliability engineering principles.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior engineers.
