Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Heavy Maintenance

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and certified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join their heavy base maintenance team in Johannesburg . This critical role involves ensuring the airworthiness and structural integrity of our fleet through meticulous inspection, repair, and overhaul procedures. You will be an integral part of our dedicated engineering department, working within a state-of-the-art facility to uphold the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.

• Perform comprehensive scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on various aircraft types in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct detailed inspections, diagnose faults, and execute necessary repairs on airframe, engine, and system components.
• Interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to guide maintenance and repair activities.
• Maintain accurate and thorough records of all maintenance performed, including parts used and labor hours.
• Collaborate with certifying staff and inspectors to ensure compliance with all aviation regulations and company policies.

• Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) license recognized by the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA).
• Proven experience in heavy base maintenance on commercial aircraft (e.g., Boeing, Airbus families).
• Strong understanding of aviation regulations, safety procedures, and quality control standards.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation and engineering drawings.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently under pressure.
