Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Microwave Technical Engineer with 3 to 5 years of professional telecommunications transmission experience to join Tangent International for a 3-month extendable contract project based in Johannesburg, South Africa [cite: 2]. In this high-impact Back Office (BO) and field engineering role, you will take full technical ownership of Microwave network deployment, commissioning, integration, acceptance, and BO/NOC maintenance [cite: 2].
You will play a vital operational role in deploying high-capacity wireless transmission links, with specialized preference for advanced E-band (80 GHz) microwave solutions [cite: 2]. If you possess a robust transmission background and are currently based in South Africa [cite: 2], we invite you to apply.
Job Description
As a Microwave Technical Engineer, you will take total ownership of end-to-end telecommunications transmission engineering, focusing on microwave link planning, radio alignment, commissioning, and fault management. Your daily responsibilities will involve deploying microwave IDU/ODU hardware, configuring radio parameters, executing link integration and acceptance testing, and providing tier-2 BO/NOC maintenance support [cite: 2]. Operating in a fast-paced contracting environment in Johannesburg [cite: 2], you will collaborate closely with field rigging crews, transmission planners, and back-office operations to resolve interference issues, optimize path availability, and ensure robust wireless backhaul performance.
Key Responsibilities- Execute end-to-end deployment, commissioning, integration, and acceptance testing of microwave transmission links [cite: 2]
