Civil Design Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned Civil Design Manager to lead their design division in Randburg . This pivotal role involves managing a team of civil engineers and technicians, overseeing the quality and efficiency of all design outputs for infrastructure projects. You will be instrumental in setting design standards, mentoring staff, and ensuring that all projects meet technical requirements, client expectations, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering design coupled with proven leadership and management capabilities, contributing significantly to the firm's success in Gauteng.

• Lead and manage the civil design team, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of design packages.
• Develop and implement design standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Review engineering designs, calculations, and drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to design engineers and drafters.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to define project scopes and objectives.
• Oversee the selection and application of design software and technologies.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering design, with at least 3 years in a design management or supervisory role.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration is essential.
• Expertise in CAD and BIM software and their application in civil design.
• Strong understanding of various civil engineering disciplines (e.g., roads, water, drainage).
