About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Farm Surveyor and Land Management Specialist to join their team in Randburg . This critical role involves assessing, planning, and managing land resources for optimal agricultural use and sustainability. You will conduct detailed land surveys, analyze topographical data, and provide expert advice on land development, conservation, and utilization strategies. This position requires a strong understanding of surveying techniques, soil science, and environmental impact assessments, supporting both field operations and remote data analysis for projects across Gauteng .

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive land surveys, including boundary determination, topographical mapping, and soil analysis.
  • Assess land suitability for various agricultural purposes, considering soil type, water availability, and climate.
  • Develop land management plans focused on sustainable practices, erosion control, and resource conservation.
  • Advise on land use planning, zoning regulations, and environmental impact assessments for agricultural developments.
  • Utilize advanced surveying equipment and GIS software to create accurate maps and spatial data.
  • Collaborate with farmers, engineers, and environmental agencies to implement effective land management solutions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Agricultural Science, Environmental Management, or a related field.
  • Professional registration with a relevant surveying or agricultural body.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying and agricultural land management.
  • Proficiency in using surveying equipment (e.g., GPS, total stations) and GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • Strong knowledge of soil science, hydrology, and environmental conservation principles.
  • Excellent analytical, report writing, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and remotely when needed.
