About the Role
Our client, a leading player in the aviation industry, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join their dynamic line maintenance team based in Johannesburg . This critical role involves ensuring the airworthiness and operational readiness of a diverse fleet of aircraft through meticulous inspections, diagnostics, and repairs performed at the flight line. - Perform comprehensive scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, troubleshooting , and repair of aircraft systems and components.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspections, documenting all findings and actions taken.
- Interpret and utilize technical manuals, engineering drawings , and maintenance procedures accurately.
- Supervise and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance on complex technical tasks and safety protocols.
- Manage and maintain an organized tool and equipment inventory , ensuring calibration and serviceability.
- Respond promptly to AOG (Aircraft On Ground) situations, coordinating with operations and engineering to minimize delays.
- A minimum of 7 years of hands‑on experience in aircraft line maintenance .
- Relevant aviation maintenance certifications (e.g., EASA Part-66, SA CAA Type Rating) for specific aircraft types operated by the airline.
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and avionics systems.
- Strong understanding of aviation regulations, safety standards, and documentation procedures.
