Industrial Engineer - Plant Layout and Design

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Industrial Engineer with expertise in Plant Layout and Design to join their team in Randburg . This hybrid role requires on-site presence for collaboration and site analysis, combined with remote capabilities for design work and reporting. You will be responsible for designing efficient and safe facility layouts, optimizing material flow, and improving workstation ergonomics. Your contributions will directly impact operational efficiency, production capacity, and employee well-being.

• Design and optimize plant layouts and facility blueprints to enhance material flow and production efficiency.
• Develop 3D models and simulations of proposed layouts to visualize and analyze potential improvements.
• Conduct site assessments and ergonomic studies to ensure safe and efficient workspace design.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and safety teams to integrate layout designs with operational needs.
• Specify equipment placement and utility requirements based on operational flow and design specifications.
• Prepare detailed reports, drawings, and documentation for proposed and implemented layout changes.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial engineering , with a focus on facility layout and design.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and simulation tools for layout analysis.
• Strong understanding of material handling systems and production flow principles.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing on-site and remote tasks.
• Excellent spatial reasoning, problem-solving, and communication skills.
