Senior Petroleum Engineer - Production Optimization

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Petroleum Engineer to join their asset development team in Randburg . This role is crucial for maximizing production and optimizing recovery from existing oil and gas fields. You will be responsible for analyzing well and reservoir performance, identifying opportunities for intervention, and implementing strategies for enhanced oil recovery (EOR). Working closely with geoscientists and operations teams, you will contribute to the sustainable and profitable management of the company's producing assets in the Gauteng province .

This position demands strong technical acumen, excellent analytical skills, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

• Analyze well performance data, diagnose production issues, and develop solutions to improve efficiency.
• Design and implement artificial lift systems and production enhancement techniques.
• Evaluate and propose strategies for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and improved reservoir management.
• Conduct economic evaluations for production optimization projects and new development opportunities.
• Collaborate with drilling and operations teams to ensure safe and effective execution of workovers and interventions.
• Prepare technical reports, production forecasts, and recommendations for asset management decisions.

• Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in petroleum engineering, with a focus on production optimization and reservoir management.
• Proven expertise in production logging, well testing analysis, and artificial lift systems.
• Familiarity with reservoir simulation and performance analysis software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
