About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Lead Process Engineer to spearhead their capital projects in Randburg. This leadership role will be responsible for the process design and engineering of major plant expansions and new facility constructions. You will lead a team of engineers, manage project timelines, budgets, and ensure that all process designs meet stringent safety, environmental, and operational standards.
This is a critical role for an ambitious engineer looking to make a significant impact on large-scale projects within the chemical sector in the Gauteng region.
- Lead the process engineering aspects of capital projects, from conceptual design through to detailed engineering, commissioning, and handover.
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), equipment specifications, and material and energy balances.
- Manage and mentor a team of process engineers assigned to capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, codes, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, other engineering disciplines, vendors, and construction teams.
- Perform technical reviews and ensure the operability, reliability, and safety of designed processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in process engineering, with at least 5 years focused on capital project execution.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing complex engineering projects.
- In-depth knowledge of process design principles, simulation software, and project engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and industry best practices.
- Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
