Senior Product Design Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Product Design Engineer to join their innovative product development team in Randburg . This role is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing new mechanical products from initial idea through to production readiness. You will work closely with marketing, R&D, and manufacturing to ensure products meet market needs and are cost-effective to produce. This is a pivotal position for an engineer passionate about bringing new products to life and contributing to the company's market leadership.

• Lead the mechanical design and development of new products, from concept to final design.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and product specifications .
• Conduct feasibility studies, prototyping, and testing to validate design concepts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, software, and manufacturing.
• Manage design changes and ensure proper documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
• Identify opportunities for product improvement and cost reduction.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in product design and development.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software and PDM/PLM systems.
• Experience with materials selection, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturing (DFM).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
