Mechanical Engineer - Plant Operations

Our client is seeking a practical and experienced Mechanical Engineer to support plant operations in Randburg. This role is essential for maintaining and improving the mechanical integrity and operational efficiency of manufacturing equipment and facilities. You will be involved in troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and implementing engineering solutions to ensure smooth and safe plant operations. • Provide mechanical engineering support for plant operations, ensuring reliable equipment performance.
• Develop and implement effective preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for critical machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical failures, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in the design, modification, and installation of new equipment and plant upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the plant.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to optimize operational efficiency and minimize downtime.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in a plant operations or maintenance engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including rotating equipment, pumps, and piping.
• Experience with CMMS software for maintenance management.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques and problem-solving methodologies.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to liaanise effectively with diverse plant personnel.
